Packing and Thanks

I generally don't dislike things. Packing just so happens to be one of those things on my dislike list. I used to like it as a kid, because it meant going on a holiday. Until the dreadful day came when Dad broke the news that we were going away to live somewhere else. I think that was when I really hated packing. I remember putting things away in those horrifying shipping boxes. Oh, it didn't make it easier that I liked someone then. And that the next year would be the hardest year of my short teenage life. I've forgiven Dad, and I've recovered from what I would call my first heartbreak. But the damage was already done. I aged somewhat, and well, I have a phobia of packing now.

So, with all that said, I was kind of surprised and touched that JC volunteered right out of the blue to come over and help me pack before going down to the airport with me. I like to pretend that everything's fine and dandy, but I think it's time that I admit things are not and that my heart is really broken. So, I'm very glad that he's coming down.

I too am glad that I managed to catch up with so many of you over the past few weeks. So here's a quick note of thanks.

Marianne: Thanks for getting me out to run. I was kinda not sleeping well and waking up at really odd hours, so the running really helped! I promised to write to you, and I intend to keep that promise! Oh, being a Mommy's boy isn't really that bad! =)

The Usual Gang: I think they should know by now who they are. It's been great fun catching up with all of you. We missed our annual dinner at the Orchard Swensens. Hopefully we can do it sometime really soon! Of course, we have to ensure that we occupy the Usual Table. Thanks also to Jasper for lying under the stars with me, who cares whether it's manly or not, it was pretty cool!

The NUS CSS folks: It's really crazy how I got to know you. First I met Janis in Sydney, then I bumped into her in NUS, and then again at Thomson Plaza with 2 others. Afterwhich, I got to know Majella, and found out that I knew her bf! The wonders of Facebook. In any case, kudos for the quick meet-ups on the Deck and the science canteen. Hope to see all of you soon!

Sam: Eh Dai Sai! Thanks for the talk. =) Catch up soon!

Jeanette: I appreciate the tennis, even though I got up the next morning aching like the very devil. If you are going to do what I think you're going to do, please don't! Really, really, really! Anyway, see you around too! =)

The Ranger Clerks: I really missed you guys and talking about the old days (they were really great times!). We have to catch up more often, and with more people! Bah! Oh, Mel, beware of pirates while you're on the Solomon Isles.

The Traddy Gang: I'm sorry that we didn't catch up very much. It's just that there is some baggage that also comes along with meeting you guys. And it's baggage that I'm not ready to deal with as of yet. I'm really sorry. It has nothing to do with you guys personally. I swear. Nonetheless, I'll miss you all very much! Thanks for the new heart, Camille, I'll try to fit it in. =)
